Travelers' Questions & Answers

Do I have to learn Arabic to visit Morocco?

Morocco has two official languages (Tamazight (Berber) & Arabic). Nevertheless, many travelers enjoy their stay in Morocco, without learning a single word of Tamazight or Arabic. However, it is always good to learn a few Arabic and Tamazight words to expressing greetings or thanks. If you are planning to visit some places other than popular tourist destinations, it is advisable to learn some Arabic and Tamazight phrases. Generally, Moroccans are friendly and are happy to help anyone, especially foreigners and tourists, even if there is a language barrier.

What is the best time to visit Morocco?

Tours can be booked all year round, although some people do find the heat a bit uncomfortable during hot summer months, from May to August. This is especially true if your Trip includes spending time in the Sahara Desert, in which case we recommend visiting during the cooler months of the year.

What is the official currency in Morocco?

The official currency of Morocco is the Moroccan dirham. There are banknotes of 20, 50, 100, and 200 DH. Also, there are coins of 0,5. 1, 2, 5 and 10 DH. It can sometimes be difficult to find change for large bills so it is always advisable to have some change with you.

How to get around Morocco?

You can travel around the country by public transport (rail, buses or share a taxi with up to six other people). You may also book one of our tours depending on where your tour starts from: Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Tangier or Ouarzazate.

Tipping in Morocco & How much should I tip?

– The amount depends on the situation. In a restaurant, it is good to give between 5 and 10% tip directly to the waiter, even when there is service added to the bill. The service tax does not go to the waiter. For a small favor, like carrying luggage or parking a car, a few Moroccan Dirhams would be appropriate. Often times in Morocco you will find someone tending to the bathroom to keep it clean. Giving them two or three Moroccan dirham is an appropriate amount.

– Tipping your tour guide and vehicle driver is completely optional, but should be considered if you’re provided with great service. If you decide to tip, feel free to give what you think your experience was worth.

What our Customers Say About Us
  • 4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes

I recommend this agency to everyone who wants to experience the real Morocco. During 4 days we visited the most characteristic places and spent a night in the Sahara Desert. In addition, to that we had a very good guide and driver (greetings to Ibrahim), they arranged good quality ranges for us for all 3 nights including breakfast and dinner. No hidden costs, everything was very clear as they told us. Also, the price was lower than other agencies. The car had air conditioning and was almost new and clean (4 x 4 Pajero). Last but not least, our trip was earlier than 2020 (it was in 2019).

  • Best 10 Days Holidays Tours in Morocco Starting from Marrakech

Ibrahim is without a doubt the best choice we made on this trip. Furthermore, He is an excellent and safe driver who knows all the roads of this country like the back of his hand. Besides, He organized for us a full, interesting, and special route that started in Marrakech and went all over Morocco through the Sahara, Fez, Chefchaouen, Rabat, Casablanca, Asilah, and Essaouira – everything we wanted. Other than that, He was attentive and patient and sensitive to all our requests.
Beyond Ibrahim’s professionalism, and the sense of security he gave everywhere we went (as two women traveling alone in such a country this is very important), We discovered a sensitive and curious person who also became a friend overall.
I could not have seen this trip without him so I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely person, Ibrahim, you are the best.

  • Merzouga Desert Excursion

I went on the Sahara excursion with Brahim and it was undoubtedly my best experience ever and mind you, I have had many. It was not just about spending a night in the middle of the largest desert in the world, it was more about breathing in the entire culture of Berber people overall. He led our caravan of camels into the desert while constantly making jokes and discussing true Sub Saharan history and traditions. When the clan reached the camping site, there was no city or town to be seen.

Moreover, it was just the vastness of the desert and the unending Sand dunes giving all of us the true measure of how beautiful the world really is. Brahim played Berber music as we all enjoyed the bonfire and there were dinner arrangements also. The night went by with all of us talking freely under the stars and Brahim was so funny and eased everyone into sharing their experiences.

Regardless, the overnight accommodation was super comfortable with proper blankets. Next morning, we were taken back to the base on the camels, not a bored second throughout the journey. Furthermore, we were greeted with authentic Moroccan breakfast. If I could, I would be back at this excursion once every few months. I will be returning soon and highly recommend this experience to everyone – It’s going to be memorable for life.
