4 DAYS DESERT TOUR ITINERARY FROM MARRAKECH TO MERZOUGA

Day 1Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

In the morning you will meet your driver/guide, to start your private 4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga via dades valley, drive through the magnific high Atlas Mountains and pass of Tizi N’tichka (2260m). After an impressive landscape in the heart of these stunning mountains, chain to Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage site. Here where many famous movies that have been shot such as: prince of Persia, Gladiator, Babel, etc.

Enjoy lunch in Ouarzazate” The Hollywood of Africa” where there are many studios and kasbahs, many films have been filmed here as well. Thereafter, continue to Skoura to visit the Amredhyle kasbah, then head to kalaa m’gouna, famous for rose fields and rose products, it’s known for its annual festival during the rose harvest in May. Then, go on to Dades valley where you will enjoy seeing the beautiful rocks formation called” the monkey fingers”. Check into your accommodation in the middle of Dades Gorges.

Day 2 Dades valley – Todra gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

The 2nd of your 4 days Morocco desert tour you will leave Dades gorge to Tinghir town, you will admire the beautiful landscape and Berber villages along the way to Todra gorges. After, a short walk in the gorges you will continue your journey to Merzouga via Tinjdad and Erfoud famous for its fossils, arrive at your accommodation in Merzouga, you will be welcomed with a glass of tea, before getting ready for the camel ride to enjoy an amazing sunset in heart of Erg Chebbi dunes. Later on, back to your camp for dinner, also you will enjoy the Berber music around bonfire, sleep under 1000 of stars. 

Day 3 Merzouga Adventure

Get up early to see the sunrise, over the sand dune nearby your camp. After breakfast and shower. you explore the Majestic Merzouga sand dunes will start with visit an oasis near dunes. continue to enjoy a cup of tea with the nomad family, thereafter we’ll stop by Mefiss, its de place where a lot of kohl and minerals were found and exported to france. Later on, we head off towards khamlia village, via the wonderful panoramic view of the Erg chebbi.

Visit the Gnawa House, it’s an ethnic group best known for their music, which is rich repertoire of ancient African-Islamic spiritual songs. After lunch, we’ll complete the tour, visiting one fantastic Lake or called Tifart. on the route you might meet some desert animals such as sand Foxe Goats, etc. From here, you have a choice to spend the night in a hotel in the village or back to the camp for second night.

 Day 4 Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob – Agdez – high Atlas – Marrakech

Today it will be great to wake up early to enjoy a magical sunrise in the dunes. then head back to your camp for breakfast and shower, before leaving to Marrakech via Rissani, Alnif, Tazarine, the village of Nkob where you will have time for lunch. Thereafter pass by Draa valley towards Agdaz. In the Afternoon cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach your hotel/ riad in Marrakech, and eventually, end the 4 Days Marrakech Desert Tour.

How to book and pay?

I recommend this agency to everyone who wants to experience the real Morocco. During 4 days Marrakech desert trip we visited the most characteristic places and slept in the Sahara Desert. We had a very good guide and driver (greetings to Ibrahim), they arranged good quality ranges for us for all 3 nights including breakfast and dinner. No hidden costs everything was very clear as they told us also the price was lower than other agencies. The car had air conditioning and was new and clean (4 x 4 Pajero). Our trip was earlier of 2019.
