MARRAKECH 7 DAY CAMEL TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1Marrakech – high Atlas Mountains – Ait ben haddou – Dades Valley

Your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel/riad, and start your 7 Days Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes. you will drive to Dades Gorges across the magnific high Atlas Mountains and pass of Tizi N’tichka (2260m). to the traditional High Atlas Berber villages. chain to Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage site. here where many famous movies have been shot such as: prince of Persia, Gladiator and Babel.

After lunch at one of the tradional restaurants, back to the main road to Ouarzazate” The Hollywood of Africa” where there are many studios and kasbahs, many films have been filmed here as well with option to visit the Atlas Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Thereafter, continue to Dades gorges through the vast palm-groves of Skoura and the rose valley stretching along the M’Gouna river, famous for rose fields and rose products. as well, it’s known for its annual festival during the rose harvest in May. after that, to Dades valley with a couple of stops to enjoy seeing views and the beautiful rocks formation called” the monkey fingers”. check into your accommodation in the middle of Dades Gorges.

Day 2Dades valley – Todra gorges – Tafraouet sidi ali

After breakfast, we drive to Todra Gorges, the course of Todra river has carved out a Grand Canyon through the mountains Making a high red cliff-sided canyon. after a short walk in the gorges. later on, we continue our 7-day camel trip to Tafraouet sidi ali via many Berber villages. the afternoon we reach to  Tafraouet sidi ali. overnight stay in kasbah.

Day 3Tafraouet sidi ali – 3-day Camel caravan – Merzouga

This camel caravan trip is an ideal activity to spend 3 days in the desert. this desert experience it’s to explore the desert and have an adventure. the camel trek is very appreciated by travelers looking for an authentic experience, and who want to discover the local culture of The Nomads lifestyle.

During this 3-day between  tafraouet sidi ali and merzouga  includes 3-day camel caravan with your guides and camels, 2 over nights in the desert, in a mobile camp. the nights in the desert are unforgettable in a tent or directly under the stars, you will enjoy a unique experience. with possibility spend one of this two nights with nomad’s family.

Day 6 Explore Merzouga region

6th day of our 7-day camel caravan tour Marrakech to Fes, we decide to explore merzouga region. Get up earty to see the sunrise, over the sand dune nearby your camp. after breakfast and shower, you explore the Majestic Merzouga sand dunes will start with visit an oasis near dunes. continue to enjoy a cup of tea with the nomad family, thereafter we’ll stop by Mefiss, it’s the place where a lot of kohl and minerals were found and exported to France.

Later on, we head off towards khamlia village, via the wonderful panoramic view of the Erg chebbi. visit the Gnawa House, it’s an ethnic group best known for their music, which is rich repertoire of ancient African-Islamic spiritual songs. After lunch, we’ll complete the tour, visiting one fantastic Lake or called Tifart. on the route you might meet some desert animals such as sand Foxe Goats, etc. from here, you have choice to spend the night in hotel or back to the camp for second night.

Day 7 Merzouga – Erfoud – Ziz valley – Midelt – Azrou – Fes

After amazing sunrise & breakfast start driving to fes through Erfoud Ziz valley errachidia. then to midelt pause for lunch. later continue driving to cross the middle atlas with its cedar forests and Berber towns, stop at the cedar forest to look at monkeys and take pictures. thereafter, to Imouzar and Efrane, which are both famous as winter ski resort for Moroccans. arrive at Fes in the late afternoon and end of 7-day Morocco camel caravan desert tour from Marrakech to Fes.

Brahim was such a blessing! We had great tour along these 7-day desert tour. started from marrakech to the ait ben haddou kasbah, Oaurzazate, Dades gorge, Todra gorge and merzouga desert. As well, we played and danced to Berber music at the Sahara camp. We also had the chance to ride camels and quads and watched sunsets and a sunrise. All food at the camp was amazing and you will definitely have enough also eaten vegetarian was no problem at all.
