3 DAY SAHARA DESERT TOUR ITINERARY FROM FES TO MERZOUGA

Day 1 Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga.

After breakfast we start our 3 Day Sahara Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga, we drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane it is called also the Switzerland of Morocco. The city is famous for its low temperature, snow and the alpine-style architecture houses no wonder. After that, we continue to cedars forest, where the apes live. Feel free to feed them, while wandering in the forest. Later, we continue to Midelt, where we will have a free time for lunch.

Then we drive to Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the ZiZ valley. With stops for panoramic views. In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you will take the camels to the middle of the desert. You will make a stop on top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, you back to the camp. where you can enjoy the Berber drums music, while dancing around the campfire, under vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 2Explore Merzouga region

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then start your second day of our 3 Day Sahara Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga, to explore the region of Merzouga. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossils areas to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities. Firstly, we start our journey in Merzouga, by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine.

Then we pay the nomads a visit, in their handmade woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking a Berber tea. Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music, and dancing performances. Its inhabitants are originating from Sud-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a local restaurant specialized in Berber pizza. After that we take a stroll in palm trees grove. Then drive a few kilometers to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called flamingos lake. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 3 Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Fes

After a magical sunrise show in the dunes. we back to your hotel at Merzouga village, by camel. after a good breakfast and shower. we drive toward Fes, via Ziz valley and Cedar Forest, then arrive at your hotel at Fes.
